The Myanmar Delegation led Union Auditor General, U Lun Maung has attended the Declaration and the 1st Meeting of ASEANSAI held from November 15 to 17 in Barli, the Republic of Indonesia. The ASEANSAI was established - To build capacity and promote cooperation and understanding among the Members of ASEANSAI through the exchange and sharing of knowledge and experiences in the field of Public Sector Auditing so as to strengthen the Supreme Audit institution  -  To provide a conducive environment and facilities for the auditing. - To achieve the stability and prosperity in ASEAN where there is good governance and that closer cooperation among the respective Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) would result in the enhancement of public accountability and transparency and therefore in better government.  The leaders of the Supreme Audit Institutions in ASEAN including Myanmar have signed the agreement on the establishment of the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institution on 16th November, 2011.  Mr. Hadi Poermomo, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Institution of the Republic of Indonesia was chosen as the first Chairman of the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions for the period from 2011 to 2013.
