1. U Maw Than, the Auditor General of the Union, received the delegation from EU/GOPA led by Mr. Thomas Thomsen, Consultant, at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw at 10:00 a.m on 7th December, 2018.
2. In this meeting, they discussed the matters of Legal Mandates, the performance status of National Legal Expert, ongoing schedules of cooperation regarding Legal Mandates, Human Resources and Pilot Financial Audit between the Office of the Auditor General of the Union and EU/GOPA.
The Financial Audit and Accounting Subcommittee (FAAS) which was established under Professional Standards Committee (PSC) of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) launched the “Discussion Forum” that SAIs implementing financial audit ISSAIs can participate in. The SAIs can ask questions to FAAS on issues related to adoption and implementation of financial audit ISSAIs via “Discussion Forum” at: https://www.intosai-faas.org/discussion-forum.html.
11th Collective Maha Kathina donation ceremony of the Office of the Auditor General of the Union was held at the assembly hall of the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, office building No.12, Nay Pyi Taw at 9:30 a.m on 16 November, 2018. Maha Kathina robe and offertories, kyats 5,494,600 in cash and worth kyats 3,248,230 in kind, totaling amount kyats 8,742,830 were offered to the monks of the Bayargyi and the Yadanar Bhumithara monasteries.

In order to conduct further co-operation in the adoption and implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA) in Myanmar’s banking sector, the Office of the Auditor General of the Union (OAG) and German International Cooperation (GIZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw on 6th November, 2018.
