The delegation led by U Maw Than, Union Auditor General, and Director General (Audit Department) and another participant as members, totalling three delegates, attended the 5th ASEANSAI Summit which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 4th to 7th November, 2019. Auditor Generals and representatives from ASEAN Countries and representatives from donor countries were present at the Summit.
The reports of the performance of the Head of Secretariat Function, the Strategic Planning Committee, the Rules and Procedures Committee, the Knowledge Sharing Committee and the Training Committee for the period 2018-2019 were presented respectively and approved. The 2nd Revision of ASEANSAI Rules and Procedures, the Upgraded ASEANSAI Guideline on Monitoring & Evaluation System and the ASEANSAI Guideline on Audit of Public Procurement were also approved.
During the summit, the Auditor General of Malaysia and the Auditor General of the Union of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar were appointed as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of ASEANSAI for the tenure 2020-2021. Chairmen of ASEANSAI Committees were also approved and appointed for the tenure.
