Conducting the Performance Audit (PA) Workshop

  1. The Performance Audit Workshop was held, led by the experts from the Office of the Auditor General of Norway (OAGN), Ms. Hege Maasø, Ms. Oda Krogh Laeret and Mr. Torkel Grahm-Haga, with the PA Team who will conduct the PA from the Office of the Auditor General of the Union (OAGM) and respective Offices of the Auditor General of Regions/States at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw from 17th to 21st September, 2019.
  2. In the Workshop, the experts from OAGN conducted discussing data collection methods regarding the Execution Phase of PA, analyzing the Interview Techniques, identifying the Design Matrix for the data collection methods and audit Scope for audit teams, clarifying the identification of responsible departmental organizations to be audited in linkage in conducting PA, rules and procedures to be followed by utilizating laws regarding the forestry and irrigation, taking part in group work activities, making presentations on data and systems regarding execution phase. 
  3. By holding the workshop, the participants gained the knowledge about the facts needed to perform in the Execution Phase, the procedures to be conducted effectively in fieldwork.
  4. The Permanent Secretary, the Director General (Audit Department) and Deputy Director Generals from the Audit Department and the audit staff from the Office of the Auditor General of the Union and Offices of the Auditor General of States/Regions, a total number of 90, attended the workshop.
  5. At the fourth day of the Workshop, the experts from OAGN met with the Permanent Secretary, the Director General (Audit Department) and Deputy Permanent Secretary, and they discussed the lecture points on the rules and procedures regarding data collection, methods for the interview technique regarding PA, facts to be included in the Design Matrix and reporting matters, conducting the PA systematically, preparing the PA Guideline, carrying out the Environmental Audit, initiating and implementing the PA Unit, and the way forward.
