1. U Maw Than, the Auditor General of the Union received Mr. Darryn Jenkins, the advisor from International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, in Nay Pyi Taw at (10:00) a.m on 21st June, 2016.
2. In the meeting, they discussed about the audit activities conducted by the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, the respective State /Region, District and Township Audit Offices relating to whether or not the Government entities comply the specific tax laws, the important of tax revenue for a country, the International practices of Self-Assessment-System, tax reform processes and also the legal provisions in tax system which needed to be understood by the tax payers and the auditors.
3. At the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, the Director General (Audit Department) and the responsible officers from the Office of the Auditor General of the Union were also present.
