

1. To support the auditing of Petroleum Sector, workshop on Production Sharing Contract was held at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, NayPyiTaw from January 16 to 20, 2017.
2. In the workshop, the Resource Persons from Office of the Auditor General of Norway discussed about the PSC contents, the role of stakeholders, international practices for crude price, recoverable costs, non- recoverable costs, oil and gas revenue allocation, re-investment of the profit to business and splitting for public interest of the contract areas. In the workshop on January 18, 2017, responsible persons from Large Taxpayers Office, Ministry of Planning and Finance and Ministry of Electricity and Energy were present and gave discussions about the key points on tax regime for the Extractive Industries, LTO's organization and roles and responsibilities with regards to Oil and Gas Tax Audit, Constraints in the management of extractive industries, processes for Production Sharing Contract, Financial knowledge in Production Sharing Contract on Oil and Gas Sector in Myanmar. And then, the Oil and Gas Audit team and the responsible persons from Office of the Auditor General of the Union raised questions for further clarifications on the topics discussed and also shared their audit findings and experiences on PSC auditing.
3. By holding the workshop, the participants gained knowledge about the contents of Production Sharing Contract and International Experiences. And knowing the areas needed to be focused for audit and the working relationships among the government agencies can support to the practical work. In the workshop, the total number of 54 persons who are the experts from Office of the Auditor General of Norway, staffs and officers from Office of the Auditor General of the Union of Myanmar, Yangon Region Auditor-General Office, Ministry of Electricity and Energy and Large Taxpayers Office were present.
