A Myanmar delegation led by U Maw Than, Auditor General of the Union visited Oslo, Norway during 2-7 October, 2016 for signing an MOU between the Office of the Auditor General of the Union of Myanmar(OAGM) and the Office of the Auditor General of Norway (OAGN) and has signed MOU on 3rd October, 2016.
According to the MOU, the two parties has agreed to collaboration on efficient audits through transparency, accountability and good governance in public finance management, and bilateral cooperation for strengthening the auditing and promoting international audit experiences.
During the visit, Myanmar delegation discussed matters concerning bilateral cooperation between the two parties, exchanged their auditing experiences and observed the Oil for Development Program of NORAD (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation), Ministry of Norwegian Foreign Affairs, and also met responsible persons from Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affair.
The priorities in the MOU are to be held the Workshops and Trainings on different types of audit such as financial audit, performance audit, environmental audit and IT audit for audit on Petroleum Sector of Myanmar.
