U Maw Than, the Auditor General of the Union and the responsible persons attended the Working Lunch on Legal Framework of OAGM in line with INTOSAI Standards and Practices hosted by My Governance Project of EU, GOPA at Park Royal Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw at 8:30 a.m on 25th May 2019. This meeting was held for amending the legal framework of OAGM in line with the INTOSAI standards and for having practices in line with the legal framework.
Firstly, the Auditor General of the Union delivered his opening speech. And then, Ms. Tora Jarlsby, Director General from the Office of the Auditor General of Norway discussed SAI Mandate and Independence: International Best Practices; Daw Naing Thet Oo, Permanent Secretary from OAGM presented the Practices of Union Auditor General Office and Challenges; Dr. Daw Khin Mar Yee, Senior Legal Consultant from My Governance Project presented Comparison between Myanmar Legal Framework and International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI); there were recommendations of the participants, questions and answers after the presentations.
The responsible persons from the Joint Public Accounts Committee, Joint Committee to Amend the 2008 Constitution, Joint Bill Committee, Union Attorney General Office, Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Union Civil Service Board, Ministry of Planning and Finance, Office of the Auditor General of Norway and the Delegation from My Governance Project, EU GOPA attended the meeting.
