1. The Office of the Auditor General of the Union together with Myanmar Accountancy Council, Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the World Bank jointly held Report on Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC)- Accounting and Auditing Dissemination Workshop at Park Royal Hotel, Yangon on June 16, 2017.
2. In the Workshop, Dr. U Maw Than, Auditor General of the Union and Mr. Abdoulaye Seck, World Bank Country Manager delivered opening remarks. And then, Myanmar and International experts shared their views on the following topical areas: Towards a stronger accounting profession, Accounting Education: The catalyst to high quality accountants and Enhancing the quality of corporate financial reporting and auditing in panel discussions. The report makes several recommendations to further enhance the accounting and auditing infrastructure.
3. At the workshop, the responsible persons from OAGU, MOPF, CBM, MAC, MICPA, World Bank, Financial Institutions, Yangon University of Economics, Private Accounting Training Schools and Private Banks were also present.
