ASEAN Federation of Accountants holds 105th Council Meeting

Nay Pyi Taw,14 Aug - The Myanmar Accounts Council organized the 105th Council Meeting of ASEAN Federation of Accountants at the Traders Hotel in Yangon this morning.

Attendees were Vice – Chairman of the Myanmar Accounts Council Deputy Auditor – General U Myo Myint, the director – general (Duty) and officials of the Union Auditor – General’s Office, members of MAC, executives of the Myanmar Certified Public Accountants Association and 28 representatives from the invited countries.
They held discussions about the interim list of AFA on expiry of its term on 31 July 2011, basic accountancy among ASEAN countries, progress in establishing the permanent secretariat of AFA in Indonesia, proposals on the strategy of AFA for the term from 2012 to 2015, proposals to set up the steering advisory council of AFA, proposals on AFA constitution, matters on AFA’s economic department and meetings, role of AFA in welcoming ASEAN Free Trade Area 2015, professional progress and training programmes of AFA, reports submitted by AFA, and matters to hold 106th and 107th council meetings.
AFA formed national accountancy federations of ASEAN into main federations. The Myanmar Accounts Council became a member of the main body in 1999. AFA also comprises joint - members: Australia Certified Public Accountants Association, Australia Charter Accountants Association, and Charter Certified Public Accountants Association (London). AFA Council Meeting is held alternately in member countries once three months. Myanmar has hosted the meeting twice including this time.
