1. The signing ceremony of MOU between Office of the Auditor General of the Union and German International Cooperation (GIZ) was held at 9:30 a.m on October 14, 2014 at the Meeting Room of OAG. The MOU was signed by Daw Khin San Oo, Director General, Administration, Training and Research Department and Mr.Thomas Foerch, Head of Project, Financial Sector Development in Myanmar from GIZ.2. The MOU was signed by Office of the Auditor General of the Union and GIZ in order to get further co-operation between them in compliance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA) in the Financial and Banking Sector of Myanmar.3. In the signing ceremony, the Auditor General of the Union gave an opening speech. He said, this is a great chance to sign MOU and many thanks to GIZ for signing this MOU with the aim to support the capacity building of OAG as well as to apply International Accounting Standards/Auditing Standards on Financing and Bank Sector of Myanmar. Supporting the compliance of International Standards of Auditing/Accounting can not only help a lot to the current operations but also improve the capacity of OAG which is standing as the vital role of Government’s transactions and wish GIZ will support the technical help in future too.4. The Auditor General of the Union, Deputy Auditor General, Director Generals, Deputy Director Generals and also Directors from OAG attended at the Signing Ceremony.5. In order to promote the Capacity Building of Office of the Auditor General of the Union, GIZ is providing the International Accounting standards/ Auditing Standards workshops which are delivered by International Expert, English Language Training Course which is lectured by Native Speaker, Study tour to Malaysia for practical studying of operation of the Banking Sector and roles of the Accountants and Auditors from Malaysia, drafting the Action Plan with the help of International Expert and National Expert to apply consistently the Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards in the Banks of Myanmar.
